Our new house has a wood stove so we decided to go have some fun. My dad joined us for the girls first wood cutting project. It was chilly, in the 20's, but we were able to get almost 2 cords of wood and everyone had fun.
We are moving!!! We have a chance to rent a three bedroom house and we are taking it! We are so excited. Our current landlords have been great and we have enjoyed this apartment but the time has come for something with more room. We will post pictures once we move in.
Emma has three teeth pulled today to make room for the adult teeth. Her dentist did a great job, she didn't even know she was numb or that the teeth had come out until after she was shown them. What a trooper, she went to school right after the operation and had a terrific day.
Steve has landed a new job!!! We are so excited!!!! I will begin work for Rocky Mountain Bank on August 17th as a Network Engineer/Systems Adminsitrator. It will be great to be working full-time in Jackson and not have to commute anymore. Most of RMB's management has come from the former Jackson State Bank and I look forward to working with them again.
We had several parties for Emma's 6th birthday, one for the family and one for her friends. You can't just have one can you?!? It is hard to belielve that our little girl isn't so little any more and to watch her grow socially is amazing.
Steve is finally employed again! I had a call out of the blue last week asking if I was still looking for work and said I was. Iam now working for Shell Oil in Pinedale as an IT Tech for 8 weeks. It is only a contract job while the normal tech is out on medical leave, but it is work. It should be good and I look forward to working again.
Emma made her first back country fishing trip with dad, Uncle Jared, Uncle JR and Spencer yesterday. We drove up Flat Creek to the end of the rode and then hiked the mile plus to the lake. It was our first time up there and it is beautiful country. We got skunked fishing but it was fun to be outside and have fun with Emma.
We took advantage of a beautiful day in the Hole to head to Grand Teton National Park. We rode our bikes from the Taggart Lake Parking Lot to Jenny Lake and back, 8.5 miles!!! Emma rode her bike the whole way and Kayli ran at least 1/2 mile of the trip. We had lunch at the lake and enjoyed looking around.
Emma just would not go to sleep last night. First she was reading (which we won't complain about) and then she was making a fort using her covers and pillows. Around 10 pm we decided it was really bedtime for her and went to tuck her in. There she was smiling and holding another tooth. It seems that she wasn't going to sleep until she pulled the loose tooth! What next? There aren't any more loose teeth, is she going to sleep now?!?
After weeks of wiggling and tugging Emma was finally able to pull out her first tooth tonight. What an exciting moment! I think she was as surprised as us when it came out. Another sign that our girl is growing up:(
Well it has been several weeks since I was laid off, but who am I to worry. I am being Mr. Mom while Rebecca has been working. Fortunately she is highly educated and can get work pretty quickly, which is a life saver. I am finding a few leads and hope that one of them will pan out.
Steve was informed today that he will no longer be employed by Teton County because of budget cuts. This is sudden and unexpected but we will find a way to make it through.
